Growing Up Into Christ Flashcards
Where does all change begin? Prov 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Said another way, “we become what we think about most.”
Thoughts lead to actions, repeated actions create habits, habits form character and our character determines our destiny.
What fundamental law is responsible for transformation?
2 Cor 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
We are a product of what we take in and hold onto through our senses.
What does nature teach us about Spiritual growth? Mat 6:28
Mat 6:27
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
The plants and flowers do not grow by their own care, anxiety, or effort, but by receiving that which God has furnished to minister to their life (What has He furnished to minister to us? HIS WORD!). The child cannot, by any anxiety or power of its own, add to its stature.
How much growth can we obtain by our own effort? NONE! John 15:5
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Phil 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
