Practitioner Specialism (K Level 2/3) Flashcards
How does modelling business processes support business analysis?
- helps clarify the core activities needed to deliver the value proposition
- understand how a process is carried out (actors/tasks involved) - clarify how we respond to a business event
- ensures every task and process helps deliver our value proposition
- consistency/standardisation so every customer receives the same service
- business process improvement, ‘as is’ are ineffective or inefficient
- demonstrate compliance
Processes provide opportunities for improvement (‘as is’ provide insights into issues such as flows between task, more detailed analysis via actor-task can help to uncover full improvement opportunity)
Whenever we undergo change (external/internal) we need to understand their response which involves process adaptions/improvement s
supports situation investigation (POPIT - processes as an opportunity for improvement) and desired situation representation (‘as is’ ‘to be’) and more rigorous GA
if as part of the business change we are improving processes - ensures any redefined processes/tasks are done with the value proposition in mind (every task/process should help us deliver VP). Any changes should ensure alignment
if we have a external ‘constraint’ business rule, it can help demonstrate compliance
can help deliver objectives/CSF e.g. excellent CX, processes help ensure we have a uniform response to customers
