- shld there be a tie , the president or the presiding member at the meeting ( if president absent ) is granted an additional vote “ casting vote “ to break the tie

what are the functions of the SPC ( 5 grps )

- prescribe and implement measures guidelines and standards of persons seeking registration
eg forensic exam , competency exam, english exam , competency standards - s5e - local pharm degree recommendations
- make recom to appropriate authorities on the content & exams of local pharm degree s5d - registered pharmacists training and education
- make recommendations to appropriate authorities for the training and education of registered pharmacists s5f - conduct and ethics of registered pharmacist s
- determine and regulate the conduct and ethics of registered pharmacists s5g

I - fully registered pharmacists
II - conditionally registered pharmacists - register of specialists

previously 135 unis - practical experience not less than 12 months at approved SPC establishment , not less thna 3 acquired in sg under supervision of fully registered pharmacist ( preceptor ) - s17(3a )

pharm law ( forensic exam) PRR r5(1a) 3 attempts
practice of pharm ( competency exam ) PRRr5(1b)

english competency exam not needed if degree is from
auz,nz, usa, uka, canada ( eng speaking countries ) - employment
- must be selected for employment as pharmacist at one of SPC approved training sites s17(3b) - good reputation and character s215b(ii)
signed off by preceptors also - fitness-to-practise s21(5biii)
physically and mentally fit - must be registered as a pharmacist in country of study and hold a valid license in country
( 1 jun 2018 onwards )

for registrants already registered in another country what are the certificates needed
- cert of registration as a pharmacist in foreign country
PRR R3 (c) - cert of good standing from registration body , stating on date of issue
- if applicant is a registered pharmacist of the country PRR r3(di)

- if proceedings have been taken or are against him

how long is the period of conditional registration
1 yr normally, could be 2 yrs
- pharmacist has to work at the SPC training site they were slected for for the whole duration of their conditional registration period 1-2 yrs
=> then fully registered
will be under supervision every 6 months by a preceptor with at least 3 yrs of working experience
are conditionally registered pharmacists allowed to be POC of a community pharmacy

section 19
1. temporary resident ( as long as need interaction w patients )

- not entitled to be regstered under PRA
( usually due to educational degree not qualilifed )
- but possess other qualities deemed adequate for registration , SPC has the right to grant
how long is temporary registration granted for
not more than 2 yrs
may be reviewed by the discretion of SPC for further periods not longer than 12 months s19(3)
what could be required of the registrant by SPC to be granted temporary registration
may require the person to sit for and pass exams specified by SPC s19(2)

what if there is a change of particulars

how can application for registration be done
section21
- spc’s prescribed forms
- “payment of prescribed fees”
spc may refuse registration if
section 21 (5)
- hs registration withdrawn suspended or cancelled in any other country
- of opinion that person is not eligible
- person not of good reputation or character
- person is unfit to practise
someone who graduated from nus pharm and went to pursue a phd overseas which register will they fit into
full , bc fit the requirements due to nus grad requirements

michelle graduated from monash uni with pharm deree in 2016, currently reg pharm in aus, plans to work in sg what are some requirements
requirements
- 1 of the 61 approved uni
- selected employment in one of the 18 SPC approved sites
- need to complete 12 months training with 3 months under a preceptor in one of the SPC sites
- good character
- fitness to practise
- must be a reg pharm in the country of study
- 1-2 yrs of working at the spc site
- competency exam and pharm law exam , english exam
- produce cert of good standing also
so currently she needs to do 3 months training under supervisor in a SPC training site
