8 major crimes - murder, nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burgalary, larcey-theft, motor vehicle theft, arson. Cleared=solved.

What’s an arrest?
Takin person into custody in a manner authorized by law for the purpose of presenting that person before a magistrate to answer for the commission of a crime
When can you arrest LE?
Any crime committed in the officer’s presence. Felony with probable cause, under the authority of an arrest warrant.
When can civillian arrest?
crime committed in their presence. If not a crime, you can be sued for false arrest.
Probable Cause
Reasonable belief that a crime has been committed and a certain person committed it
Beyond a reasonable doubt
threshold for conviction
Reasonable suspicion
Allows you as a cop to stop and question someone
