What does the Board stand for?

Why license people?
protect public safety and general welfare of the people of this state.

Detective/Office, Special police officers, insurance adjusters, working for employer only/internal stuff, info ref persons financial ratings, charitable society, attorney, collection agency, insurers and agents, banks, residential confinement, commercial registered agent, CPA, computer fixit person, infosec

$150/day or part thereof, perdiem and travel.

Cease and desist with reasonable time for abatement. First violation not more than $2500, 2nd $5000, 3rd and more $10k
Board - time for appeal
shall hear within 90 days. Some quiks to that, in advance of a regularly scheduled meeting, push to 120 days for example. Board can notify at least 10 days
Complaint process
Board shall serve a copy of complaint. Answer within 20 days. Admit to/Rebut complaints/charges. Can request a hearing (failure to appear = guilty)

Waivers for liability - polygraph
any such waiver is void…can’t request.
polygraph - required advisement of person
right to refuse to answer incriminating or degrading questions. 1st - advise of purpose! they need to consent in writing, can’t interfere with union type activity. under 18 need consent of parents.
Polygraph taboo topics…
religion, political affiliation, sexual activities, sexual orientation, gender identity, union…UNLESS these are germane to an issue under investigation…even then!!
Before polygraph opinion…
allow person to speak to physiological effects. Need at least two charts with same questions. Need to advise person about their veracity in a reasonable amount of time.
