2
Q

What is the ATF and what is the allowable?

A

The ratio of an aircrafts power to a specific power reference at a temperature of 35*C. This is the average of both ETFs

Q

What is max allowable gross weight?

A

Max weight that an aircraft can weigh at a 10’ hover IGE or 70’ hover OGE

If the weight is 22,000 this is a structural limitation. If it’s less than that, it’s an engine limitation

Q

What is the Go/No go Torque?

A

This helps to verify if an aircraft is at or below maximum weight IGE or OGE

Q

When must maximum hover height be calculated?

A

When aircraft gross weight exceeds max allowable gross weight OGE and power not available for OGE hover.

If OGE does exist, put OGE in max hover heigh box

Q

What is continuous torque?

A

A power level the engine can produce continuously and remain out of time limited engine operating limitations

Also referred to as Maximum Continuous Power

16
Q

What is max endurance IAS?

A

This allows the most time aloft

17
Q

What is critical torque?

A

If this torque value is exceeded, the aircraft may not be able to maintain % RPM R within normal limits under single engine operations

18
Q

What is the Optimum IAS at Max Allowable GWT?

A

Airspeed that must be flown in order to maintain level flight at max allowable GWT

19
Q

What is Max R/C IAS?

A

Adjusted indicated airspeed that allows for the fastest climb using max torque

20
Q

What is the airspeed correction chart?

A

Used to address the IAS errors resulting from disturbed airflow in and around the pitot tubes while climbing
