Q

What is engine torque factor?

A

ratio of an individual engine torque available to specification torque at a reference temperature of 35C.

The allowable range is .85 to 1.0

Q

What is the aircraft torque factor?

A

the ratio of an individual aircraft’s power available to the reference temperature at 35C. The ATF is calculated from the average of both ETFs.

The allowable range is .9 to 1.0

Q

What happens when the TR is less than 1.0?

A

To obtain the actual TR, multiple the specification torque by the TR

Example .98
90%Q x .98 = 88.2%Q

Q

When is contingency power automatically available?

A

When any one engine’s Q is below 50%

If the engine has an EDECU:
-NP droops below 96% w/ a greater than 3% droop between the reference and actual NP
-greater than 5% per second NP droop rate exists
-NP less than or equal to NP reference speed

Always available if put in LOCKOUT
