A

To turn a negative exponent into a positive exponent, cross the line and change the sign of the exponent.

Multiply and divide Monomials

A

Multiply- if the bases are the same then add exponents, keep the same base. (Ex: 5 (exponent 2) +5 (exponent 6) = 5 9exponent 8)

Divide- minus exponent (do multiply except with subtracting exponents) (ex: 3(exponent 3)÷ 3 (exponent 2) = 3 (exponent 1)

Scientific Notation

A

Standard form- the full number (ex; 3,000)

Scientific- The shortened version (ex: 3 x 10 (3)). Exponent can be negative if the decimal was moved backwards.
