Powerplant Flashcards
What does it mean to have an amber light above the pressure readout (gauge)?
Oil pressure has dropped to 40 psi
What does it mean to have a red light above the pressure readout (gauge)?
Oil pressure has dropped to 35 psi
What does it mean to have a yellow light above the temperature readout (gauge)?
Oil temperature has dropped to 135 C*
What does it mean to have a red light above the temperature readout (gauge)?
Oil temperature has dropped to 165 C*
What is the capacity of the oil tank?
17 Quarts
When is fuel heated required?
Before takeoff and prior to final approach, if fuel temp drops to 0 C*.
What is the normal operational oil quantity?
12-16 quarts
Where is the oil cooler located?
The oil cooler is located immediately upstream of the temperature gauge sensor.
What does CLMP stands for and what does it mean?
CLMP stands for Command Limit Manual Power! This requires you to move the throttle.
The engine does not accelerate to normal idle N2 RPM, which is approximately 56%. What kind of start is this?
Hung start.
What does an amber ‘REVERSE UNLOCK’ annunciator indicates?
The deflector doors are unlocked and/or in transit.
What does the Automatic Reserve Thrust (ART) provides?
Automatic engine failure detection and increase thrust on the operating engine.
Engine sync must be off below what altitude?
Below 1500 feet AGL
What does the amber ART annunciator indicates?
It indicates engine failure detected and that the ART has been activated.
