Power Plant Flashcards
Temperature for all ground starts must be less than what ITT?
120°C Per FCOM Vol 1 2-05-4
Temperature for all air starts must be less than what ITT?
90°C Per FCOM Vol 1 2-05-4
Starter must not be used/reengage if indicated N2 rpm exceeds What?
55% N2
10th-stage bleed air manifold can be pressurized to start an engine by? (3 things)
*APU
*External air cart
*10th-stage bleed air from the operating engine (crossbreed)
Minimum bleed air pressures for start.
APU
External air start cart
Engine crossbleed
40 psi
45 psi
60 psi (approximately 85% N2)
Oil levels should be checked between how many minutes?
15 minutes to two hours after engine shutdown.
APR is armed when?
APR switch is selected to ARM and both engines N1 rpm is above 79%(N1 speed mode). This is indicated by the APR ARM advisory EICAS message.
During takeoff the APR is activated when?
N1 RPM drops below 67.6% rpm. The system commands both engines to increase N1 speed. The good engine N1 is increased by a minimum of 2%=500 pounds of thrust.
What monitors the N1 for the APR?
DCUs. (Data Concentrator Unit)
Maximum Oil consumption is?
6.4 ounces or 0.05 US gallons/hour.
Chip detector and impending oil filter bypass indications are provided where?
In the after equipment bay on the junction box 5 (JB5) but are not presented on EICAS.
What engine does the 650 have?
CF 34-3B
Normal T/O thrust rating is 8,729 per engine. APR 9,220
What drives the N1
by a shaft from the four-stage low-pressure turbine.
N2 is driven by
High-pressure turbine
Bypass air produces approximately how much thrust on takeoff?
80%
