Connects 1-2:source together. If one removed there is still a supply to FC systems

Purpose of the PPS?
Provide 115v 1ph 5.1Khz power to the Command sequencer and permit setting of RBA fuses
Two methods of detecting ground faults
Online fault monitoring- continuous
Ground fault test SMP- periodic
PCM

Displays at Fire Control console

Fuse test and Tactical mode
Purpose of a DC Convertor Function
Top provide a stabilise 270vdc to SWS (Fire Control )
What range can DC- DC Convertor operate?
210-355V
What is the Purpose of 35KW MG’s
Supply 120v 3p 400hz to ships services
Alternate is 2x 10Kw for Nav equipment
What is the voltage range and over volt limit
10% range with 351 over volt limit
What is the output of the 400hz mg
120V 3ph 400Hz
Where is the 1SF switchboard located?
MCC passageway outside entrance to MCC
Checks on switchboard and MG
Check voltmeter
Check frequency
Check MG output ammeter ( not overloaded)
Check DC ammeter ( not overloaded)
Check MG for noise, vibration and sparking
Check MG temperatures
What is done to brushes if off for an extended period?
Lift brushes and place insulating NOMEX between brushes and commutator
What is to be turned of after shutdown of MG?
CW water supply to stop condensation
What speed does the over speed trip operate?
Contacts open automatically to secure MG at
1972 +- 20rpm
What is the purpose of the motor controller?
DC magnetic controller, connects to the drive
end of MG to ships 270vdc distribution system
Periodic checks on SB and MG
Check voltmeter Adjust rehostst
Check frequency meter
Check for noise, vibration and sparking
Check for air temperature
