Explain Traditional Authority
Exists when those in authority expect obedience and loyalty on the ground that traditions demand it.
Example for Traditional Authority
Hereditary monarchy demands that a new monarch commands as much obedience and loyalty as previous monarchs did.
Explain Charismatic authority
people choose to obey leaders because of their characteristics etc.
Example for Charismatic authority
Nelson Mandela became the first black leader in South Africa because of his image.
Explain Rational Legal authority
gets its power from bureaucracy and loyalty. Those with this authority have the power to direct and command others.

Power which can be seen being used. People who are invloved are usually appointed through legal procedures.

Ability to make decisions and limit decisions available to others.

Theresa May sees agenda for cabinet meetings. She can decide what is and whats not discussed.

Powerful people are able to manipulate the public into believing decisions were made in their best interests.
