Sears worked with the rail road and got lots of watches by default when anew ever refused to sign for them. He sold these watches as a business. He placed an ad in the paper, and Roebuck, a watchmaker, got involved. They became famous for their catalogs and mail order system. They opened their first store in Chicago.
