Potentiale an Biomembranen (Nernst-Potential, Goldmann Gleichung, Gleichgewichtszustände, NichtGleichgewichtszustände, Donnanpotential, Permeabilitäten) Flashcards

1
Q

Die Konzentration von Kalium Ionen beträgt intrazellulär 150 mM und
extrazellulär 5 mM. Berechnen Sie das Gleichgewichtspotential für Kalium an
der Zellmembran.

A

E_K = (RT/zF) * log([K]_o / [K]_i)
= 58 * log(5/150) mV
= - 85 mV

Q

What’s the difference between GHK and Nernst Equations?

A

The Nernst equation only considers one ion at a time.

The Goldman-Hodgkin-Katz equation essentially combines the Nernst equations for multiple ions to calculate a membrane potential based on these ions’ intracellular and extracellular concentrations and the membrane’s permeability to these ions.
