Potassium-sparing diuretics Flashcards
0
Q
Therapeutic Effects
A
- Diuresis (with less K+ excretion)
2. Block effects of aldosterone -> sodium / water excretion, potassium retention
1
Q
MOA
A
- Acts on distal tubule -> block Na+ / K+ exchange & aldosterone receptors.
- ⬆Na+ and H2O excretion while retaining K+ and H+

- HTN
- Fluid overload / edema
- Hyperaldosteronism
