Q
Name 3 posterior thigh muscles

- Semitendinous
- Semimembranosus
- Biceps Femoris ( 2 head, long and short)

Has cord like tendon which begins about 2/3 of the way down the thigh
- Ischial tuberosity
- Medial part of the superior surface of the tibia (as part of the pes anserinus)
- Tibial division of the sciatic nerve
- Extends thigh, flex leg and rotates it medially when the knee is flexed, when the thighs are flexed it can extend the trunk

Long head crosses both hip and knee
Short head only the knee
Long head - Ischial tuberosity
Lateral side of the fibular head
Long head - tibial division of sciatic nerve
Shorty head - linea aspera and lateral supracondylar line of the femur.
- Lateral side of the fibular head
Short head - common fibular division of sciatic nerve
- Extends thigh (long head), flexs leg and laterally rotates when the knee is flexed (both)
