What happened?
Hydronephrosis
Also, what happens here?
lumbar triangle (of Petit). Lumbar hernias can happen here.
Name the muscle, attachments, and action.
Quadratus lumborum. Attaches to 12th rib and thoracic vertebrae and iliac crest inferiorly. Action is to keep the 12th rib from moving superiorly during inspiration and also to bend the trunk laterally.
Psoas major
Name this muscle. Does it cross the hip? What is its insertion and action?
Psoas minor. Does not cross hip, attaches to the superior ramus of the pubis. Can flex the spine in relation to the hip but isn’t that important.
Iliacus
Also name what #1 supplies
- Lumbar arteries - supply the posterior abdominal wall muscles
- Abdominal aorta
- Common iliac as.
- Median sacral a.
- Internal iliac as.
- External iliac as.
Name the nerve and which anterior abdominal wall muscle it pierces.
Iliohypogastric nerve - pierces the transversus abdominis muscle
