A
- A belief in a mixed economy (involvement by the State as well as private enterprise).
- Support for the NHS and the welfare state.
- A belief to ensure employment (avoid mass unemployment of 1930s)
- Working with both trade unions and employers.

Describe the domestic policies towards housing.
A
Conservative manifesto promised to build 300,000 houses a year. Macmillan oversaw this success.

Describe the domestic policies towards education.
A
3 kinds of schools emerged:
- Grammar schools for intellectually gifted
- Technical school which would concentrate on practical and vocational skills
- Secondary modern which would provide a general education.
