weakness: cant establish cause and effect
A
many extraneous variables which cannot be easily controlled such as how long person had a particular disorder, age at time of death or drug treatment recieved or not for disorder, makes it more challenging to interpret role of specific brain areas in behaviour, limits internal validity of findings and appropriateness of PM to study brain
