- Direct Intertextuality refers to specific media products deliberately
- Indirect intertextuality refers to media generally, like using a popular style or genre conventions

- Parody is a comedic imatation of an event
- Pastiche is an artistic replica of a film style done by another director
- Homage is when a creator shows respect to a film style
