Britain is still struggling with their loss of empire, so we see strong representation of britain (imperialised representation)

Represent BAME people as bad people to make white people look better

The action or process of settling among + establishing control over indigenous people of an area
Colonisers dominated + exploited citizens in area
What is decolonisation?
Countries becoming independent from their host countries
How was racism caused by colonisers?
They made a point of emphasising racial difference between them + colonised in terms of power, intelligence, morality, physical prowess
Gave them moral excuse to exploit inferiors, western nations developed this dominant ideology
What did european nations like britain do to colonised nations?
Employed an imperialistic approach, meaning colonised nations became part of british empire + under british rule
What did imperialism enable?
Countries like britain to exploit the colonised in terms of labour, natural resources, + basically making them capitalist
