Death Rate?

Death rate is higher than birth rate
Ageing Population?
When there is an increasing proportion of people over the age of 60 in a country
Migration?
People move to a different place to live
Immigrant?
People who move into a new area, with the intention of living there
Emigrant?
People who leave an area, and plan on going to a new country
Refugee?
Someone who has been forced to leave their home
Net Migration?
Difference between immigrants and emigrants per 1,000 people of the population
Push Factor?
Reasons why people want to leave a place
Pull Factor?
Reasons why people are attracted to a place
Natural Change?
Difference between birth and death rate, expressed as a percentage
Life Expectancy?
Number of years a person is expected to live, usually taken from birth
Replacement Rate?
A birth rate high enough to be the same size as the one before it
Population Pyramid?
Type of bar graph used to show the age and gender structure of a country
Infant Mortality?
Number of babies that die under 1 year of age, per 1,000 live births
Child Mortality?
Number of children that die under 5 years of age per 1,000 live births
Economic Migrant?
Some moving to improve their standard of living, they move voluntarily
