What is migration?
The movement of people into and out of an area or country
Does migration have an impact on the rate of global population growth?
No, Migration simply helps change the distribution of the global population

Age and Gender

What does an ageing population suggest?
More people are living longer
What is a population pyramid controlled by?
Birth rates, death rates and the balance between these two rates
What is overpopulation and underpopulation?
Overpopulation- when there are not enough resources to provide for the people living there
Underpopulation- when there are lots more resources present in comparison to the people living there
What is the tipping point?
The point at which the area becomes overpopulated
What is China one child policy?
Couples with more than one child are penalised in various ways
What are anti-natalist policies?
Policies that seek to limit population growth by birth control

It was the policy to persuade immigrants to come to the UK to build their economy again after then second world war.
