Pompey was threatening him and even called his veterens in to make sure that the bill was passed (concern for his safety)

It ruled that the remaining public land of Italy (in Campania) should be divided into 200,000 pieces of land and distributed to veterens and fathers of large urban families
What did the Lex Campania mean for the rural peasants and what was it a symbolic gesuture of?
It uprooted significant numbers who had been cultivating the land and was a guesture of the importance and power of the military and the urban populace

With the help of the tribune Publius Vatinus, Caesar was able to get the equites a tax rebate of 1/3

- Crassus’ tax farmers have the price of their contracts reduced by half

Clodius (was o.g. Claudius) by allowing him to be adopted by a plebian father (who was only 20) so that he could join the Tribune of the Plebs

He put to death Roman citizens without trial during the Catilinarian Cospiracy in 63BC - which was now illegal to do

Created gangs which were loyal to Clodius - attacked Pompey, so Pompey retaliated with his own gangs (gang warfare)

Pompey got the help/support of tribunes Lentulus and Milo. In the end 147 senators voted in favour of Cicero’s return
How did Cicero try to repay Pompey after getting him back from exile?
Spoke in favour of Pompey being given the ‘Curator of the Grain supply’ - had 15 legates, total control of all the ports and trading centers with the authority to arrange the distribution of food stuffs for 5 years
How did Cicero supporting Pompey as ‘Curator of the Grain Supply’ undermind the rest of the Triumvirate?
Would make Pompey once again virtually the master of all Roman possessions by sea and by land which wouldn’t please Caesar and Crassus
