A

Across the 109 years, national minorities aimed to be independent, the experience of each group in attempting to achieve autonomy varied according to time and place. Some minorities were successful in gaining political rights that allowed them to become free from Russia.

A

suffered similar treatment to Poles
Granted full independence in Treaty of Brest-Litovsk but short-lived, as unable to oppose Red Army during Civil War
Stalin’s collectivisation implemented there

What did Stalin’s 1936 Constitution do?

A

gave Georgia full republican status
appeared that there was greater representation for nationalities, in reality Stalin kept tight control
in theory position of Ukraine improved however after war many were accused of being Nazi conspirators + those found guilty were executed

lost Poland, Estonia, Finland, Latvia etc
