Young and youthful which made him in the election look bright. he rose prosperity by expanding social services and income tax and fought well with the election campaign such as ‘conservatives freedom works’ however he refuses to join the EEC as he is focused on exploring prosperity for a full scale customs union.

Macmillan

A

he was very well media trained and very ambitious as he was able to combine new and old policy’s together which helped him attract a wider audience. he was a master in the commons as he was effective and confident by gaining psychological superiority. by the 1959 election Macmillan was strong with the slogan ‘life is better under conservatives’ compared to Gaistkells last minute pledge to increase the income tax, this led to a difference of 100.
