Calcium channel blocker OD
Calcium gluconate, 1-3 g slow IV/IO over 5-10 minutes.
Mildly symptomatic CO poisoning should be transported to
Nearest ER
All suspected carbon monoxide exposure patients with a SpCO level ≥ 15 (RAD-57)
and exhibit severe symptoms of CO poisoning symptoms should be transported to
Hyperbaric chamber
Treat chlorine inhalation with symptoms
- Albuterol - 2.5 mg nebulized.
- Dexamethasone - 10 mg IV/IO/IM/PO.
- Sodium bicarbonate 8.4% - 2.5 ml via nebulizer.
Cyanide OD treatment
Hydroxocobalamin (Cyanokit™) 5 g IV/IO over 15 minutes. Repeat once if needed.
For cardiac arrest, hydroxocobalamin should be administered as a rapid fluid bolus.
Consider Sodium Thiosulfate 50 mL of 25% solution over 10 minutes if
Hydroxocobalamin (Cyanokit™) not available
If peds displays symptoms of OD or poison considering
abuse or neglect
Peds activated charcoal 1gram per KG max of
