Q

The well is at the end so think of the points at the end

What are the well points and what are they generally known to do.

A
  1. Indicated for fullness below the ❤️
    • Disease of the Zang
  2. Most points are known for restoring consciousness and rescuing collapse
    • except GB 44, BL 67 and SJ 1

Important to note that all of them are odd numbers except Gallbladder which is different in many other points, please keep this in mind for categorizing point systems.

Q

It has all odd number and normally 2 less than the well points minus GB which is the same as the 3rd most distal point.

What are the stream points and What does it generally do?

A

The only one that is not 2 less than the well point is GB 41 which is 3 less, it’ll behove you to remember.

There the same as source points which is the 3rd point on the Yin organs and the 4th point on the Yang organs, except gallbladder which is the 4th point. Counting distal to proximal.

Indications:
• Disorders of the Zang ( with the ying-spring point)
• Yang channel Disorders (with the ying-spring point)
•Heaviness in the body and pain in the joints
•Diseases which attack intermittently

D. Zero Point, Shenmen, Zero point, Sympathetic (Autonomic)

A

The answer is B

Zero Point
General homeostatic balance
Supportive of other auricular points; “Solar plexus” point

Shenmen
Sedates the mind
Connects the body and spirit

Autonomic (Sympathetic)
Balances sympathetic and parasympathetic

Balances left and right hemispheres
Switches contralateral reactivity to ipsilateral reactivity

Allergy
Reduces inflammatory reactions
Tranquilizer
Produces a general sedation effect
Master Sensorial
Reduces overwhelming sensations
Master Cerebral
Reduces nervous conditions, negative thinking and psychosomatic disorders
**Landmark Key for pictures coming: **
a) square mean underneath
b) circle – on top or right where you see it
Lung 1 is for contralateral side; historically for breathing disorders
Lung 2 – ipsilateral side, historically used addictive disorders
Scaphoid fossa – it is like a baby with the head being the lobe and the middle being the elbow. The superior being the fingers
Antitragus- starts with cervical region and ends with sacral with coccyx being tucked away under the helix

Q

What are the points of the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders (ACACD).
6 points inserted into one ear (this was made out of Miami, has control over mental/emotional)

A

The Zero point was added, and they L’s was swtitched the Liver point was switched for the Limbic system (mental/emotional) and the Lung was switched for the Brain.

17
Q

Where are the yuan-source points and generally what do they do

A
  1. The same points as the stream points which is the 3rd point on the Yin organs and the 4th on the Yang organs except Gallbladder is the 5th counting distal to proximal.
  2. Yin organs - known for tonifying and regulating there respective Zang organ and is good for Yin
    Yang organs- good for dispelling various pathogens and treating disorders along its respective pathway
    It is said these are the points where original Qi surfaces and lingers
18
Q

What are the checkpoints of the fingertips and wrist

A

Checkpoints for the hand 1, 9, 1, 9, 1, 11
From pinky to the thumb

* How to remember Triple warmer is close because it warms the heart;Triple warmer travels on the Dorsal side of the skin where the sun hits it which is why its called triple warmer (I made this up but it makes sense to me mind blown emoji)
* Pericardium is around where the heart is but not as close as triple warmer is to the heart; Also travels the same side as the heart so on the ventral side of the arm
* Start from ulnar side and once you reach the middle finger you switch to the radial side for LI and LU on the fingers

Acupoints check point 3 Wrist acupoints checkpoint

5 SI, 4 TW, 5 LI, 7 HT, 7 PC, 9 LU
* The SI and the LI are on the opposite sides on the wrist but the same number on the Dorsal side
* SI and LI is 5
TW is 4

19
Q

What is CV 4 point used

A

Yin/yang/Blood/Qi tonic

Think 4 everything as noted by the 4 things it helps

20
Q

What are the checkpoints for the feet

A

Kidney is 1 on the bottom of the foot 🦶

21
Q

Which point/s moves blood 🩸?
A) Sp 10 and CV 6
B) St 36

A

Sp 10 & CV 6

22
Q

What is the front mu point and the back shu point of the stomach?

A) CV 12 & UB 21
B) St 25 & UB 25
C) CV 4 & UB 27
D) CV 5 & UB 22

A

**Correct answer A) CV 12 & UB 21 think 🤔 reverse the numbers for stomach, and stomach has many 2’s as it’s 2 cun over in the abdomen region and the 2 numbers are reversed. or the back shu think the 2 S’s are together spleen and stomach as spleen back shu point is UB 20 and also ST 25 is the point around the naval which is 2 cun over which is the Front mu point for large intestine **

B) is the Front mu and back shu for LI; ST 25 and UB 25 LI has the same numbers for the front mu and back shu point
C) is the Front mu and back shu for SI CV4 and UB 27
D) is the Front mu and back shu for TW

24
Q

Urinary Bladder has
67 points finishes on lateral pinky toe

Remember this:
Start counting on the spine from T1 1.5 cun from the spine and it is UB 11 it skips T8 meaning T9 will be UB 18 which is the back shu point for Liver. The outer shu points is 3 cun from the spine and 29 more that the inner shu point. For easy math add 30 and subtract 1 because it starts at T2.

UB30
UB54 is 3 cun over at the hiatus of the sacococcygeal hiatus

UB 5-8 is 1.5 cun from each other
UB 9 is inline with GV 17 inline with UB 10
UB 10 is lateral of the trapezeius
UB 23 and UB 52 are inline with GV4 because 2+3=5
And 5-3=2 and their inline with L2 except GV4 is under L2 of course
UB 39 is lateral side of the posterior knee
UB 40 is in the middle on the back of the knee
UB 55 is in between the two heads of the gastrocnemius

A

For points below just add 29 and UB40 isn’t there because it is
UB 11 -> T1
UB 41 UB 12 ->T2
UB 42 UB 13-> T3
UB 43 UB 14 -> T4
UB 44. UB 15 -> T5
UB 45. UB 16 -> T6
UB 46. UB 17 -> T7

Skip 1 spinal process
UB 47. UB 18 -> T9
UB 48. UB 19 -> T10
UB 49. UB 20 -> T11
UB 50. UB 21 -> T12
UB 51. UB 22 -> L1
UB 52. UB 23 -L2
UB 24 - L3
UB 25 -L4
UB 26 -L5

UB 36 - is the gluteal crease
UB 37 is 6 cun from UB 36

UB 60 is on the opposite side of KD 3
UB 64 is on the opposite side of KD 2

UB 23 and UB 52 is on the same line kind of think 2+3 makes 5 and there’s a 2 again 52

UB1 Starts in medial superior corner of the eye 👁️.
UB3 - is in-line
UB4 - 1.5 cun from GV 24 and 0.5 cun from hairline
- then follow the curvature of the head to get to UB 4 - UB10

IB 11- 30 - is 1.5 cun from the spine/GV

UB 31 - is at 1st foramen of the sacral
UB 32-34 is at each of the next sacral foramen

UB 36 - the crease of the buttocks
UB 37 - 6 cun distal of UB 36

UB 39 - on the popliteal crease and laterally by the biceps femoris tendon

UB 40 is the middle of the kne knee 🦵 , then You hop back up 🆙 haha 😆 to the back UB41

UB 41-52 is 3 cun lateral of the spine. UB 52 ends on the same line as UB 23

25
Q

Conception Vessel 24 points ends at crease above the chin

The conception vessel of 17 starts at the Intercoastal space of 4 and continues upwards towards the manubrium with CV 21 being on the manubrium

A

CV 8 -Belly Button
CV 16 Sternal angle

Palpating CV 15 is where the xiphoid process is and it will make someone quite noxious

CV 17 -20 is located on the sternum where the intercostal spaces are located. From the 1st -4th intercostal space.

CV 21 - is on the manubrium in the center

CV 22 - suprasternal fossa in between the sternal heads in the deep points not close to the pharyngeal prominence or the sternum

CV24 - is in the cleft of the mental/labie grove. Mental meaning chin and labia meaning lip.

26
Q

Liver- 14 total points
* Starts on the Hallux/Big toe lateral side of it and ends where the liver (but to be exact in the 6th intercostal space on the mamillary line)

Liver 8 is on the opposite side of GV 34 and 1 cun from spleen 9

A

Liver 14 is the front mu point of the liver and is in the 6th intercostal space.

27
Q

Spleen has 21 points; starts on lateral side of the halluces (big toe)

* Ends at the 7th intercoastal space where the spleen is
* Spleen 9 is underneath the medial tibia condyle Spleen 10 is 2 cun above the knee on the vastus medialis
A

Front mu point of Speen is Liver 13 located directly anterior and inferior of rib 11
Back shu point is UB 20

28
Q

Kidney meridian 27 points ends under clavicle

Starts at the sole of the foot the progresses posteriorly and medially to the medial malleolous.

KD1 - either the start of the 2 and 3 toe.
1) Have the patient curl foot and in the depression.
2) Divide the posterior and anterior into 3rds. The upper 2/3rd counting from the back of the foot to the front is KD1

A lot of tenderness when this point is needled

Once on the abdomen it is half a cun lateral to the midline

KD 3,5,7 are in line with each other

KD 7 and 8 are 2cun from KD 3 and KD8 is 0.5 cun anterior of KD 7 and on the posterior border of the tibia

KD 16 - is inline with CV 8 off the navel
KD 17 starts 2 cun above the navel line

Kidney 21 is the last spot half cun over inline with UB 14, then KD 22 moves 2 cun laterally and terminates in the lower border of the clavicle in the depression

Kidney 22 - is in 5th intercostal space

A
  • Front mu point of the kidney is GB 25 which is located at the tip of the 11th rib
  • Back shu point of the kidney is UB 23 and UB 52
29
Q

Gallbladder - 44 points total; Starts on lateral side of eye and Ends on later side of Ring Toe:

GB 22 starts on the 5th intercostal space mid-axillary line. GB 23 is 1 cun medially in the same intercostal space
BG 24 is in the 7th intercostal space which is 1 below Liver 14 as in how the gallbladder is.
* Starts on the lateral side of the eye then goes to the back of the head to the trapezius and then on the sides of the chest.
* Stays lateral towards the feet
* Once you reach the ankle or below the popliteal crease remember the #’s 3,4,5 and 7 as those are cuns above for points 39, 38, 37 and 36 with 35 respectively.

GB 35 is the only posterior point on the fibula in line with GB 36 -7 cun proximal to the lateral malleolus

A
  • Front mu point of Gallbladder GB24 which is located in the 7th intercostal space under liver 14 which is liver front mu point
  • Back shu point is UB 19
