What conditions are releasing the exterior for?
-Wind Heat
-Wind Cold
-Wind invasion
-Wind Damp
This list is not exhaustive
As in what are the distinguishing factors
What are differentials for the different wind conditions in TCM?
Wind Heat you sweat easily – which is a differential
Wind Damp – effects joints
When releasing the exterior it pushes pathogens, but it can also release nutrients depending on how strong and or how long we release the exterior. If symptoms are seen passively sweating is a good start point.
Wind Cold If it is harder to start sweating passively it is likely a Wind Cold invasion. As the body is trying to hold on to heat.
Important information on releasing the exterior- Once you promote sweating you can stop. Ideally during the day but if they can’t then at night. This can reduce the time the patient is feeling sick. If the symptoms come back then you re-dose
