Way the setting affects the the readers and characters

How the AUTHOR feels about his characters and subject
Allusion
Refrence to another work, person, place, or time
Onomatopoeia
Word or combination of words resembling sounds (buzz, rattle, bang)
Archetype
Describes universal symbols that evoke deep or unconscious responses (quests, initiations, descents to underworld, ascents to heaven)
Speaker
Voice used by the author to tell story or poem, often created identity and not equated with the author’s self
