Intra-Plate Location
An intraplate earthquake occurs in the interior of a tectonic plate.
Multiple Hazard Zone
Considered to be regions or parts of the world that are exposed to a range of hazards (often a combination of meteorological, climatic and geomorphic impacts).
Slab Pull
Slab pull is the portion of motion of a tectonic plate that can be accounted for by its subduction. Plate motion is partly driven by the weight of cold, dense plates sinking into the mantle at oceanic trenches.
Subduction Zone
A subduction zone is the biggest crash scene on Earth. These boundaries mark the collision between two of the planet’s tectonic plates.
