Hazard
A danger or risk.
Disaster
A sudden accident or a natural catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life.
Megadisaster
An unexpected natural or man-made catastrophe of exceptional magnitude and/or causing unusually severe or unprecedented damage. An unforeseen event of any kind with exceptionally unpleasant, distressing, or unfortunate results.
Natural Hazard
Natural hazards are naturally occurring physical phenomena caused either by rapid or slow onset events.
Risk
The probability of a hazard event causing harmful consequences (death, injury, loss of property, damage to environment, etc.)
Viscosity Of Lava
Lava viscosity defines the size and shape of a volcano. Even though lava is 100,000 times more viscous than water, it can still flow great distances.
Vulnerability
Exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.
Water Column
A water column is a conceptual column of water from the surface of a sea, river or lake to the bottom sediments.
