Giant’s Causeway lava plateau
A
1-Lava poured from a split/fissure in the ground. It was runny (basic) lava, it covered a large area.

How was Giants Causeway formed (4)
A
1-Around 60m years ago, this plateau was formed at a constructive plate boundary where 2 plates moved apart.
2-The crust was stretched and split, lava poured from these splits.
3-lava flows continued for 2m yrs, the plateau is 1800m yrs old.
4-As lava cooled and contracted, hexagonal shapes formed in Antrim.
