A thin covering made up of cells that protect the root tip of a plant as it grows into the soil.
Root Cap
Any of the threadlike projections from the plant root that absorbs water and dissolved minerals from the soil.

The layer in plants that separates the xylem from the phloem.

The loss of water through plants leaves.

The food making process in green plants that uses sunlight.

The release of energy in plants and animals from food.

Something in the environment that causes a living thing to react.
stimulus
A response of a plant toward or away from a stimulus.
Tropism
A characteristic that enables a living thing to survive in it’s environment.
