plant cells Flashcards
What is the function of the cell wall?
it provides support for the cell.
What is the function of the chloroplasts?
Chloroplasts contains the green pigment chlorophyll. Photosynthesis occurs here.
Photosynthesis is the process of using energy from the sun to make food for the plant
What is the function of the large central vacuole?
The large central vacuole contains a liquid called cell sap. Helps the cell to keeps its shape.
Why are plant cells different to animal cells?
Plant cells are different to animal cells as they contain a large central vacuole, chloroplast and a cell wall.
what does the mitochondria look like?
a purple and lilac star
what does the nucleus look like?
a big black coloured in circle
what does the large central vacuole look like?
a big kinda oval white thing
what does the cell wall look like?
the outside of the whole cell
what does the cell membrane look like?
the inside of the cell wall (the inside of the border)
where the border meets everything else
what does the chloroplast look like?
oval small green things
they float with the mitochondria
what is the cytoplasm
the backround of the whole cell
