The electrons of an atom are orbiting the nucleus in SHELLS.

what energy store do electrons have
A
The electrons have an electrostatic energy store because they are near the nucleus.

how many elecytons can each shell hold
A
Each shell can only hold a set amount of electrons before it becomes ‘FULL’.
1st Shell: Can hold 2 electrons.
2nd Shell: Can hold 8 electrons.
3rd Shell: Can hold 8 electrons.
REMEMBER: 2,8,8!
