Describe the location of St. Albans
St. Albans is located in the South East of England in the County of Hertfordshire. It located 25 miles North West of London. St. Albans is located close to the river Ver and the urban settlement of London Colney.
What are the four reasons why St. Albans is a suitable place to carry out the fieldwork
1) St. Albans close to school
2) St. Albans a very small city
3) St. Albans is accessible by coach
4) St. Albans has a number of main roads which leave the CBD
Why does St. Albans being close to school make it a suitable location to carry out our investigation
It enabled us to carry out our investigation in one day
Why does St. Albans being a small city make it a suitable location to carry out our investigation
It enabled us to investigate how the land use and environmental quality changed with distance from the CBD as there were clear changes along a 1km transect
Why does St. Albans being accessible by coach make it a suitable location to carry out investigation
It enabled us to be dropped - by the coach - in the center of St. Albans
Why does St. Albans haaving a number of main roads that leave the CBD make it a suitable location to carry out our investigation
The roads were straightforward to collect data on as they travelled for a straight line for at least 1km
What 2 things made St. Albans an unsuitable location to carry out our fieldwork
1) The traffic in the CBD mad the drop off difficult due to there being a lack of places to stop
2) Minor roads were unable to be sampled as they did not follow straight paths - Therefore it would have been difficult to sample
