When the placenta becomes detached from the endometrium, threatening preterm labour - premature separation of the placenta from the uterine wall

Polyhydramnios
Symptoms
Abdominal hardness
Bleeding
Pain
Reduced fetal movement
Dizziness/fainting
Contraction
Investigations
Obs
CV exam
Group and save
USS to check baby
Doppler artery???
Kleihauer test
Cultures
Coagulation studies
Management
Fluids
Call seniors
If over 36 weeks and no fetal compromise, observe closely and delivery vaginally
If under 36 week, give cortiocsteriods
Signs
CTG contractions
reduced fetal movements
Hypotension + Tachycardia = shock
Uterine tenderness
