PK Flashcards
Name HLA-B associated drugs
Abacavir, allopurinol, CBZ and phenytoin
Equation for bioavailability
F = Div X AUCev/(Dev X AUCiv)
What is the PHY correction equation?
PHY/(0.1 X Alb + 0.1)
What drug needs to dose reduced for both loading dose and maintenance dose in renal function?
Digoxin
*normally loading dose is not altered unless Vd is altered secondary to renal dysfunction (digoxin Vd is reduced)
What drugs are low-hepatic extraction ratio drugs that may require dose reduction of loading dose?
CBZ, diazepam, PHY and warfarin
How are high-hepatic extraction ratio drugs impacted in hepatic dysfunction? With IV and PO drugs?
IV: necessary to decrease maintenance dose as hepatic blood flow changes
PO: Decrease maintenance dose since it alters clearance (ex: haloperidol, morphine, metoprolol, propranolol, verapamil)
