SIC < 100 hours in type (incl. IOE)

Conditions in which the PIC must make all takeoffs and landings

A

At Special PIC Qualification airports (FAA or SkyWest)

  • Visibility <= 3/4 mile
  • RVR <= 4000 feet
  • Runway is wet or contaminated
  • BA < good or RCC 5, or less
  • Crosswinrd > 15 knots
  • Windshear reported in the vicinity of the airport
  • Any other condition determined by the PIC

High Mins Captain (PIC with less than 100 hours in type)

A
  • Increase MDA/DH 100 feet and 1/2 mile (or RVR equivalent) visibility.
  • The 100 hours may be reduced by up to 50% by substituting 1 landing for 1 hour of PIC of another type airplane in part 121 operations.
  • CAT II minimums not authorized
  • No change to alternate minimums derivation, however actual approach minimums must be >= 300 feet and 1 mile; or, the approach must be a CAT 1 ILS.
