Taxi: when is cowl anti-ice required?
OAT <= 10degC and visible moisture in any form is present (such as fog with visiblity of <= 1sm, rain, snow sleet and ice crystals), and / or on surfaces where ice, snow, standing water or slush is present.
Taxi: when is wing anti-ice required?
OAT <= 5degC, with or without visible moisture, and the aircraft has not been anti-iced with type 2 or type 4 fluid.
Turn on Wing A/I after second engine start and at least two minutes prior to takeoff, check that WING A/I advisory message is displayed.
Just before takeoff as conditions permit, turn off Wing A/I.
Takeoff: when is cowl anti-ice required?
OAT <= 10degC and visible moisture (visibility <= 1sm or any precipitation); or,
The runway is contaminated.
Takeoff: when is wing anti-ice required?
OAT <= 5degC and visible moisture in any form including any precipitation, fog, mist, or clouds < 400 feet AGL; or,
The runway is contaminated.
In flight: when is cowl anti-ice required?
When flying in icing conditions; or,
ICE is annunciated by the ice detection system
In flight: when is wing anti-ice required?
When ICE is annunciated by the ice detection system; or,
Flying in icing conditions and the airspeed is less than 230 KIAS,
In icing conditions during descent from cruise (regardless of airspeed); or,
Prior to extending flaps for all approaches when TAT is <=10degC
What constitutes icing conditions?
On the ground:
OAT <= 10degC and visible moisture; or,
operating on contaminated surfaces (including runways)
In flight:
TAT between 11degC and -40degC and visible moisture is encountered
