What is a Pilonidal sinus / abscess
A
Obstruction of natal cleft hair follicles 6cm above the anus.
Ingrowing of hair excites a foreign body reaction and may cause secondary tracts to develop to the skin
+- abscess with a foul smelling discharge
more common in men

Treatment?
A
Surgical:
Excision of sinus tract +- primary closure
Pre-op Abx
