Q

What are protein?

A

On a cellular level, proteins make up or create the
blueprint that defines the different working organelles of a cell, like the
mitochondria and the ribosomes.

proteins are required for the structure structure, the function, and regulation of the body’s cels, tissues and organs.

proteins are made up of hundreds of small units called amino acids, which are attached to each other in long chains to
make up a protein.

Now, there are over 20 different types of amino acids that
can be combined to make a protein.

And proteins are important in the diet because they are used to produce new tissue for growth. They’re used to repair damaged tissues. And proteins really define what an organism is, what it looks like, and how it behaves.

The body is made up of thousands of proteins. So, proteins also make up the majority of enzymes that are used for digestion and immunity.
Hormones, such as Human Growth Hormone and insulin, require the aminoacid that make up proteins. Proteins might be used as a source of energy if carbohydrates are not available. It’s usually a secondary source of fuel for the body, as it likes to save proteins for growth and development and repair.
