Job examples
Farmer: provide food
Cooks: cook
Craftsmen: make beautiful works of art
Vikings
From 795 onwards, Vikings from Scandinavia attacked monasteries looking for riches and gold
Abroad
Some monks went abroad to spread Christianity eg. St Colmcille set up a monastery in Iona p, Scotland

Metal work: ardagh chalice (silver and gold)
Stonework: high crosses, carved scenes from bible to tell stories of Christianity
