(2-7years) it is preoperational, we start to express our thoughts and feelings through our words. It is difficult to understand some concepts

(7-11years) it is concrete observational. We connect ideas to real life situations and understand more concepts.

(11-adulthood) it is formal operations. We start thinking in more abstract ways, and come up with strategies and compare our processes with other things.
