Physiology Lecture 1_ICF ECF Flashcards

1
Q

Q

Tonicity vs Osmolarity

A

Osmolarity is the consentration of total dissolved solutes. Tonicity is the consentration of impermiable solutes only (example D5 normal saline). Tonicity is of significantly more medical importance.
