Physics study guide - Topic 2 Flashcards
What are the basic requirements for life?
The basic requirements for life are water, oxygen, energy coming from the sun and an atmosphere. At least for life as we now know it.
How are scientists searching for life in space?
They use telescopes, space probes, spacecrafts and space stations (the space crafts/stations can’t go very far into space as they contain humans).
What kind of data can space probes collect?
hey can take photos, collect data about the atmosphere and take readings and measure the gravitational field of a celestial body.
Give an example of a discovery that we have made with a space probe.
Scientists found that one of Saturn’s moons (Excalibus) had liquid water, not just frozen water.
What are the three different types of space probes?
The three different types are landers, orbiters and interplanetary such as the voyager 1 and 2.
