inertia mass
limit of proportionality + hookes law
what is spring constant
what are plane waves
straight waves, move at same speed, keep same distance apart
speed of sound waves
333 m/s
speed of light waves
3 x 10^8
what are carrier waves?
carrier waves = carry any type of signal
How is a signal detected and transmitted?
1.An oscillator supplies carrier waves to a transmitter as an a.c
2. Audio signal is supplied to transmitter where it’s used to modulate carrier waves
3. modulated carrier waves are supplied to transmitter ariel –> varying a.c. supplied to aerial which causes it to emit radio waves that carry audio signal
4. when radio waves are absorbed by the receiver aerial, they induce an a.c. in it, causing oscillations in the receiver –> frequency of these oscillations is the same as the radio wave
5. receiver circuit separates audio signal from the carrier waves - audio signal is supplied to a loudspeaker –> sends out sound waves similar to those in the microphone
