16
Q

What is the wavelength?
And how is it mesured?

A

Length of one wave. Measured from crest to crest or from trough to trough. It is measured in meters

17
Q

What are the two main types of waves?

A

Transverse and longitudal

18
Q

What do all waves transfer and not?

A

Energy but not matter

19
Q

What is the danger of UV radiation

A

Over exposure can cause Damaging to skin cells, cause burns or damage DNA which can lead to skin cancer

20
Q

What protects you from Uv radiation the most and the least

A

Sunscreen and least is nothing

21
Q

What are the 3 main types of fossil fuels?

A

Coal, Oil and Gas

22
Q

What are the problems with fossil fuels

A

They are a finite resource and it is difficult to get them put of the ground and transport them. They also take along time to form. When they are burned they release green house gases that cause pollution

23
Q

What are the 4 main types of renewable energy

A

Wind, Solar ,Wave and hydro

24
Q

What is a renewable energy and how does it work?

A

The wind turns the blades that make the blades rotate, the rotating blades then turns a shaft that is connected to the generator which creates electricity as it turns

25
Q

What is a pro and Con of wind power

A

Pro- does not release any carbon emissions.
Con- Can ruin a landscape and it generates low or no electricity when there is little or low wind
