Physical self
outer appearance or physical aspect such as height, skin color, weight, eye color, hair, etc.
Body type
self-concept, self-esteem, and similar facets of physical
attractiveness. It has 4 aspects;
Body image
how you see your body. Not always a
correct view as it may be highly influenced by insecurities or
overconfidence.
Perceptual Body Image
how you see your body. Not always a
correct view as it may be highly influenced by insecurities or
overconfidence.

your belief about your physical self. If
left unchecked this may result to overthinking about a body part.
Cognitive body image
how you feel about your body.
Affective body image
how you feel about your body.

what you do as a result of the aforementioned aspects.
Behavioral body image
• Characterized by having a realistic perception
• It is feeling good about one’s body despite what the media
• It is being accepting of God-given traits and having the right
attitude to work on having a healthy lifestyle.
• has been linked to having a likewise healthy self-esteem.
Healthy body image
• Body dissatisfaction and being significantly preoccupied with appearance
• Being anxious and shameful about one’s body
Usually comparing one’s body with others
• Having disordered eating and feelings of isolation, low self-esteem and/or depression
• Vomiting, taking laxatives, risky dieting, and other unhealthy behaviors.
